Jedidiah Morse, the New England minister and geographer, warned in a 1799 fast-day sermon:

"To the kindly influence of Christianity we owe that degree of civil freedom and political and social happiness which mankind now enjoys... Whenever the pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown, our present republican forms of government – and all the blessings which flow from them – must fall with them."

Frontline's Church Ambassador Network exists to connect the shepherds of the church with those who govern, so that the truth of Christ shapes how Georgia is led. As you thank God for the freedom enjoyed in the United States, pray for the pastors stepping into the public square and for the officials who carry the weight of leadership, that both would seek the welfare of the city and honor the One on whom that freedom rests.
