I recieved the sad news that an old friend, Jo Matos, has passed away. I knew her when she studied at The Hartford Ballet in Hartford, Connecticut in the early 80s when I accompanied for modern classes there. When I was signed to RCA in 1987 and moved to New York, I discovered she had also moved there where she was studying at The Joffrey Ballet. She went on to become Artistic Director for Joffrey Ballet School’s Children’s and Youth Ballet Programs since 2008 and Summer Intensives in New York and Miami.
My thoughts & prayers go out to Jo's family and all of her friends at The Joffrey Ballet.
