The Hesitant Handyman

A few weeks ago, I opened our dishwasher to find an E09 error code on it. Quick Google search found that the issue is the heater/circulator motor for this code. There’s two options in this situation: replace the whole dishwasher (a cost of in excess of $900) or replace the part (cost of about $100). I do suppose there’s a third option, pay someone to fix it, but honestly? This dishwasher wasn’t even in warranty anymore, so paying a professional didn’t seem logical once I watched the video and realized how easy the fix was.
This dishwasher’s served us well, been problem free for the decade-ish that we’ve had it, and having just paid for a transmission on my wife’s car that I’m still paying for, the only solution was to buy the part and figure it out myself.
It’s not a difficult fix (hardest part was disconnecting the hose clamp, and I was able to do it without having to disconnect the water supply and drain hoses) and this, a freshly completed cycle, confirms the fix worked. No E09 code, no leaks, and the dishwasher is back to working again. 😁
