From us over at we want to send a huge thank you to , , and for coming out to the HIVE and training with the wrestling team ahead of the return of the boxing program originally started by founder Michael Steadman over 10 years ago.

For many of our boys, this was their first time stepping into boxing. Learning stance, spacing, movement, and fundamentals alongside two professional fighters was probably the coolest introduction they could’ve asked for. We’re excited to continue building more opportunities and pathways moving forward.

10 years ago, I alongside other proud alumni, was part of that original boxing program. What started inside those walls eventually evolved into a full nonprofit organization now serving youth across the city of Newark through mentorship, education, entrepreneurship, trauma informed coaching and boxing.
