Farmer Peer-to-Peer Programs: This program is geared toward Extension educators, agency personnel and other agricultural service providers who want to initiate or enhance peer to peer outreach for those in farming, fishing, and forestry industries.

Last week at the 2026 Extension Risk Management Education National Conference in Salt Lake City, we had the opportunity to recognize our outstanding project award winner from the Northeast region.
The 2026 Outstanding Project Award was presented by our center Director Laurie Wolinski to Jennifer Hashley and her project team at New Entry Sustainable Farming Project at Tufts University. The project entitled "Overcoming Risk During Climate Variability: The Importance of Recordkeeping in Small Scale Farming" focused on providing aid to new producers in order to develop a culture of recordkeeping, build financial analysis skills to assess overall economic viability and financial health of their farm business, and increase participation in federal farm programs.
Producer outcomes included: improved production data collection practices and management decisions; market channel assessments; improved farm financial recordkeeping and enterprise analysis; and increased understanding of overall business health in the face of weather-related risks.
Congratulations!
