Ferry Wines
One of my very first memories of ferry wines goes all the way back to about 1980 or so. There was an old man with a Long White Beard would come into the store on occasion. He had an uncanny resemblance to the Santa Claus from miracle on 34th Street and he was a very well read and gave you three or four books on one occasion one of them I remember was Fahrenheit 451 by Kurt vonnegut. The gentleman's name was Victor verdugo and the funniest thing that I remember about him is that he had one of those old school 1970s or 1960s travel bags the airlines used to give out to people and he had one for twa. But then he cut out a tea in the same color from somewhere and he taped it at the end of his TWA logo and basically walked around the ironbound with that bag and I thought it was just about one of the funniest things I've ever seen at that time.
