The DCO has released their 2025 Annual Climate Report for Delaware.

Delaware experienced six consecutive months of above average temperatures (February to July) in 2025 as well as seven months with drier than normal conditions. All portions of the state experienced some months with severe drought conditions.

We're happy to announce that we've upgraded another one of our DEOS stations to a 10 meter tower. This time it's our New Castle weather station at the Historic Penn Farm. The station is already being used for some educational programs for students in the Colonial School District (the farm is owned by the district). Its data, especially its 10 meter wind speeds, will also provide a better standard for National Weather Service forecast model initialization and validation. One of the more interesting aspects of this and our other recent 10 meter tower installations, is the use of metal earth anchors instead of cement to anchor the tower. Not only is this anchoring method effective, it's more environmentally friendly than pouring a huge block of cement.

What a fantastic Coast Day 2025! The weather was perfect, and our team loved sharing more about CEMA's work and providing tours of our new 10-meter tower at the Lewes Campus.
