It’s been 9 months since my last flight...for those in my circle 3 weeks at home was a long time. I will say with all honesty I feel quite safe flying and it was time to get back in the sky! New rules, COVID test, health visas etc but that’s ok it’s all for our good. I felt everyone had an inner calm, which is strange at an airport, like let’s not take this for granted. It’s been hard not to plan, to not be scheduled, to learn to be in the now. I am reminding myself daily to enjoy eachday in the present because my hopes are out in the world, ready to take flight and soar...

It’s 19 years today since we experienced the unimaginable...19 years later here we are again living the unimaginable. However, between then and now walking around NYC evokes so many memories of the weeks following 9/11. Like then, it’s hard to imagine the city ever getting back to “feeling normal”. But, the optimist in me believes that the city will come roaring back sooner than expected, and be even more dynamic because of the adversity experienced. Now, just like then, we can never bring back the loved ones that were lost, and they will live on with us forever. But, with this sadness comes hope, because I believe so strongly in the spirit, strength and ingenuity of New Yorkers. Let this day be a reminder to not give up and feel the fire in your heart that the comeback and vibrancy of our city and people will once again triumph. #9/11memorial
