Last month, Programs for Parents had a wonderful time connecting with families at the Newark Office of Early Childhood's Night at the Museum, hosted at !
It was an evening filled with discovery, creativity, and community. We loved meeting so many parents and caregivers, sharing resources, answering questions, and connecting families with the programs and services available through Programs for Parents.
Thank you to the Newark Office of Early Childhood for bringing families together for such a meaningful event, and to everyone who stopped by our table. We can't wait to see you at the next community event!

Biting can be a challenging behavior for parents and caregivers, but it's also a common part of early childhood development. Understanding the reason behind the behavior is the first step toward responding in a way that supports your child's learning and emotional development.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, toddlers often bite because they're still developing communication, self-regulation, and social-emotional skills. The Zero to Three organization also notes that factors such as frustration, excitement, fatigue, hunger, and overstimulation can contribute to biting during the toddler years.
As with many developmental behaviors, consistency, patience, and teaching appropriate ways to express feelings can make a big difference.
