The world I used to live in tended to overindex career, status, and finances.

Every time you met someone or went out for drinks, the underlying question was “What do you do?” -or- “What have you been up to [professionally]?”

Don’t get me wrong they’re important questions, but they sometimes lead to many people basing their value and worth on these things… and that’s dangerous.

These are not the metrics for success because I’ve met a lot of “successful” people who are struggling when it comes to the other areas of life that often matter to them more — their health, family, friendships, romance, self-esteem, happiness, purpose.

What if the next time you linked up with someone for work or otherwise, you genuinely asked them questions to truly get to know them or see how they’re doing?

Just maybe you get to have a real af conversation with them. 🤷🏾‍♂️

S/o to for the questions and reminder.

My FAMILY just officially got a little bit bigger today!!

My brother Phabs got married to my new sister Anastasia, and I couldn’t be happier for them. 😍😭

They had an intimate ceremony that inspired me to remember something:

LOVE is a CHOICE.

But sometimes we have walls put up that often hinder us from exercising that choice.

So it’s beautiful when you have the opportunity to witness two people who choose to love each other fully and wholly… wall & all.

Coincidentally, the more we accept each other in our imperfect perfection, the more room we create for those walls to come down so that more of that love can be expressed.

Looking forward to seeing what these two kindred spirits create in their unique space of love over the course of their lifetime together.

I love you both. 🖤

That smile you get when you have an intimate relationship with your Self. 😁

As I got ready to leave Costa Rica these past 5 days or so, I was really “feeling the feels.”

New friends leaving, a romance ending, some family & business challenges surfacing, and limited clarity of what’s in store for me in the US after 4 months of living abroad.

The Universe really always has me on my toes!

But what I rediscovered in the midst of all of this is that...

In times of change or uncertainty, it’s natural to feel undesirable emotions like anxiety or fear.

And in those moments, if you know HOW to overcome them, it’s extremely empowering, reassuring, and grounding!

It’s a matter of not resisting what you’re experiencing and creating space for the emotions to be expressed & run their course.

Turns out I needed the whole weekend to fully process my emotions!

Ended up doing a series of practices like journaling, being in nature, movement, and visualizing to receive clarity on what I truly desire next.

I’m telling you, if you want to treat yourself, give yourself the gift of space to reconnect and realign . (You can thank me later. 😉)

What do you do to deal with emotions like anxiety or fear?
