If your Shopify or Adobe Commerce store is connected to an ERP, there's one scenario most integrations aren't built to handle.
A customer edits their order after checkout to change a quantity or update an address.
The storefront recalculates using checkout logic. The ERP recalculates using its own pricing rules. Both produce a different total. Neither system is wrong.
The original order has now become two different orders. And nothing in the integration decides which one is correct.
Your support team finds out three days later from a customer ticket - after the inventory reservation has already drifted, and a promotion that was valid at placement has been silently stripped out.
Most integrations are tested for order creation. Not for what happens after.

🚨 Magento 2.4.9 is officially here, and this one is different.
Released on May 12, 2026, Magento 2.4.9 isn't a routine version bump. Adobe describes it as the most significant architectural release in the 2.4.x line since 2.4.4, and after digging into the release notes, we agree.
Here's the short version of what changed:
➡️Security first: 17 CVEs patched (7 critical), CAPTCHA extended to API registrations, improved JWT token security. If your store handles customer data, and it does, this matters.
➡️Performance: Valkey 8 replaces Redis as the default cache. OpenSearch 3 brings faster search. 500+ bug fixes means far fewer "unexplained Magento issues" slowing your team down.
➡️Payments: Apple Pay now works on Chrome and Firefox. Google Pay supports card vaulting. Promo codes work inside express checkout flows. New payment methods for European markets.
➡️Infrastructure: PHP 8.4/8.5 required. MySQL 8.4 LTS or MariaDB 11.4. These aren't optional; you'll need to prep your server environment.
If you're on Magento 2.4.6, this is urgent.
Regular support ends August 11, 2026. That's less than 3 months away.
The good news? You don't have to figure this out alone.

When inventory “looks right” but behaves wrong, customer trust breaks.
Most businesses think inventory sync is a technical problem.
It’s not. It’s a trust problem.
When ERP and eCommerce don’t interpret inventory the same way:
👉🏼Customers see products that aren’t actually available
👉🏼Orders get delayed or corrected manually
👉🏼Support teams step in to fix what systems should have handled
And slowly… confidence drops.
Because in eCommerce, inventory isn’t just data, it’s a promise.
At i95Dev, we’ve seen this pattern repeatedly:
The issue isn’t syncing inventory, it’s how inventory behavior is translated across systems.
👉🏼The real question isn’t: “Is my inventory syncing?”
👉🏼 It’s: “Is my inventory behaving correctly when customers buy?”
If your systems:
👉🏼Show availability that fulfillment can’t support
👉🏼Struggle with real-time updates
👉🏼Or create post-order surprises
You’re not facing a sync issue. You’re facing a translation gap.
