Video has expanded to every level of society these days. From broadcast television and cable to the explosion of websites which use video in newspapers, tutorials, promotion and entertainment. Video production skills are no longer solely the area of filmmakers but are applicable to many careers and pursuits, from business, science, marketing, criminal justice, journalism and medicine, among many others.
The Video Production Program offers a broad range of technical and media studies courses that place emphasis on creative production, academic scholarship, and media literacy. Students take a core curriculum with courses in the history of film and video, journalism, new media, critical studies, and intensive video production. Our program prepares students to be original independent media makers and provides them with diverse production and analytical skills that can be applied to varied careers in an ever-changing media landscape.
