850,000 Jewish refugees. 750,000 Palestinian refugees. Same region. Same century.

Two communities displaced. Two generations of loss.

If one matters — does the other?

The problem was never the people.
It was the system that kept failing them.

Britain’s Foreign Secretary told the War Cabinet that Germany was making great efforts to win the sympathy of the Zionist Movement.
Britain needed to act first.
One month later the Balfour Declaration was issued.
So this declaration was it made for the people of Palestine, for the Jewish people, or to win a war?

Think.

In 1917, two empires competed for influence over the Middle East.
In 2026 how many powers are still competing over the same region?

Has the pattern changed, or just the names?

1937.
The report said the problem was already known.
Twelve inquiries had already studied it.

If the warnings were documented nearly a century ago,
what happened to the answers?

America championed “self-determination” at Paris, 1919.
Then the U.S. Senate rejected the Treaty of Versailles despite 32 states supporting it.

America signed a separate deal with Germany, keeping all the rights, privileges and advantages, but dropped the League of Nations entirely.

The rules they helped write still applied to everyone else.

So when those who make the rules can walk away from them, but the rules remain…

what needs to change so this doesn’t keep repeating?

A system asked the people.
The people gave an answer.
The answer was documented.

What should happen next when a system ignores its own process?

This is not a conclusion.
This is a document.
The question is simple:
Why was this considered important?

The document speaks of trust.
The document speaks of independence.
The document speaks of the wishes of the people.
So where do the people fit into the story?

Stop following narratives.
Don’t believe claims without evidence.
Read the documents.
Check the sources.
Think before you repeat.

Where do the 1.7 million refugees in Gaza come from?”

According to UNRWA, Palestine refugees are people whose normal residence was Palestine between 1946 and 1948 and who lost both home and livelihood as a result of the 1948 conflict.

Their descendants are also eligible for registration.

But before asking where they came from…

Should we also ask why they became refugees?
