Getting Out and Staying Out - GOSO

Stephanie (pictured here on the left with a GOSO participant, Kayvonnah) started at GOSO as an intern. Today, she's a full-time Participant Success Manager (PSM) and a recent graduate with her Master's degree, bringing a clinical, therapeutic lens to the young people she supports every day.
In her words, being a PSM at GOSO means "extending a listening ear, a helping hand and a heart to heart." 💙
Stephanie shared why access to culturally competent mental health support matters so deeply, especially for the communities GOSO serves. Read more about Stephanie and the work she does below.

WPP Media hosted a beautiful volunteer day putting together wellness kits for GOSO participants.
For many of our participants, having essential items can make all the difference in getting through tough times, especially with the summer heat making it even more important for those out and about for work, school, or appointments.
Thank you to the WPP volunteers for showing up for our young people!

June was a busy month! We strengthened GOSO through partnerships with orgs like Trinity Church NYC, as well as the community-based organizations who showed up to our annual Gun Violence Awareness Month block party to share resources with the East Harlem community.
We'll echo our President and CEO Michelle Pryce-Screen in GOSO's June newsletter: "When organizations, families, advocates, and changemakers come together around a shared vision for young people, we move differently and build stronger. That's the GOSO difference"
