FIT Alumni Association

It’s Giving Season and we couldn’t be more excited to share the impact YOU help make possible through FIT. We want to highlight a few powerful stories and words from our board members that remind us why this work matters. We want to hear from you! Tell us your FIT stores and be highlighted too!
✨ John Russel Jones, Managing Editor, MR Magazine, freelance writer, and President of FITAA.
On my first day at my first real job at a public relations agency, my boss asked me to write a press release for her. She handed me some materials, and I got to work. About an hour later, I handed her my first draft, and she loved it. Within a few days, I became the de facto writer for our division. FIT prepared me for that job in a way that many of my coworkers weren’t. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of working with fellow alumni as colleagues, employees, and interns; all have consistently displayed an independent, can-do attitude that is often lacking in our industry. That’s why I’m a fan of the FIT Alumni Association: We raise money and make sure that it gets into the hands of students so they can focus on their studies, not their finances.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re setting an ambitious goal: 25 donations of $100 or more to ensure that we can continue offering the same level of support in 2025 that we were able to provide last year. You will also receive a tote bag for any gift of $100 or more!
Thanks to your generosity, the FIT Alumni Association was able to give $10,000 to students last year. This funding directly supported students and replenished our Emergency Fund, which is now in need of replenishment once again. As we face the challenges of an uncertain economy, the need for immediate support is greater than ever.
That’s where you come in.
As an FIT alumnus, you know the value of strong community and support. The FIT Alumni Association has always been a vital lifeline for students and alumni alike — offering financial assistance, building connections, and ensuring that the next generation of students has the resources they need to succeed.
In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, I hope you will consider making a donation to the FIT Alumni Association. Your gift will directly help students grow into the industry leaders of tomorrow — leaders who, in turn, will strengthen our alumni community for years to come.
No donation is too small, but our goal of 25 donations of $100 or more will allow us to replenish the Emergency Fund and maintain the strong support systems that our students and alumni rely on.
Make your gift today and help us reach our goal. Together, we can continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of current and future FIT students.
Thank you for being a part of the FIT Alumni Association. Your generosity ensures that our community remains strong and resilient, now and in the future.

We’re just one week away from Giving Tuesday, the global day of giving. While you’ll no doubt receive many emails this week asking for support, I’d like to take a moment to highlight the powerful impact you can have.
Last year, thanks to your generosity, the FIT Alumni Association was able to raise and award $10,000 to support our students.
This year, we’re setting a goal of 25 donations of $100 or more to ensure we can offer the same support in 2025.
