Yesterday, voters across New York sent a powerful message: they're ready for a bold, working-class-focused politics.
We are proud to celebrate five extraordinary progressive candidates who dominated their primaries, proving that community power beats establishment politics every single time.

🔴 Brad Lander — Congress NY-10: 65.8%
Defeated two-term incumbent Dan Goldman. Former Comptroller brings decades of progressive fight for working New Yorkers.

🔴 Darializa Avila Chevalier — Congress NY-13: 49.4%
Community organizer flipped Harlem & the Bronx against the establishment. A stunning upset for democratic socialism.

🔴 Aber Kawas — NY State Senate D-12: 60.19%
HISTORIC: First Palestinian Muslim woman elected to NY State Senate. Her victory cements the movement for housing justice, workers' rights & immigrant protection.

🔴 Claire Valdez — Congress NY-7: 58%
Union organizer & Assemblymember secured the nomination to replace retiring Rep. Velázquez. Brooklyn & Queens unite for real change.

🔴 David Orkin — Assembly D-38: 59%

Muslims Vote Project Mobilizes Brooklyn for Raj Goyle

After Friday prayers, our community came together for a full day of grassroots organizing across Brooklyn — and the energy was undeniable.
📋 FLYER DISTRIBUTION

Right after Jumu'ah, our volunteers hit the ground, distributing flyers and having direct conversations with community members about the importance of this election and why Raj Goyle deserves our vote for State Comptroller.
🕌 5 MASJIDS CANVASSED

Our canvassing teams covered five masjids across the community today:

4️⃣ Quba Masjid

10 canvassers. 5 masjids. One mission: making sure our community is registered, informed, and ready to vote.
🎤 PRESS CONFERENCE

At today's press conference, Zakarya Khan spoke about why Muslims Vote Project was created — to encourage Muslim Americans to register, vote, and fully participate in our democracy. He also highlighted that Muslims Vote Project was proud to be an early endorser of Zohran Mamdani, having introduced him to the Little Pakistan community and backed him when he was still polling at just 2%. A reminder that our community's early belief and organizing power can change the trajectory of an election.
Ali Najmi also took the mic, speaking about Raj Goyle's record of service and the work he's done for our communities, praising his commitment and leadership.
