Some dogs arrive in rescue ready to take on the world. Curly isn't one of them.

This tiny 9lb, 2-year-old pup came to us from a hoarding situation in Alabama, and the world is still a pretty scary place for him. New people? Scary. Leashes? Scary. Being touched? Still a work in progress.

But if you've been following Curly's journey, you'll know that this little guy has been quietly making some BIG moves.

When he first arrived, Curly spent most of his time tucked away in his crate or hiding under furniture. Now? He comes out to greet his foster mom when she enters the room, seeks comfort from the resident dog, and spends more time observing the world instead of hiding from it. Every day, he's showing us that there's a brave little dog in there who's trying so hard.

Curly is looking for a very special adopter—someone who understands that trust isn't given overnight and that the biggest victories might seem small to everyone else. The first tail wag. The first time he chooses to sit near you. The first time he realizes he's finally safe.

Because of his shy nature, Curly is looking for a home with another confident dog who can continue showing him the ropes and helping him build confidence. 🐶
