At ISCP’s annual benefit, writer and critic Aruna D’Souza spoke candidly about the challenges artists, curators, and cultural workers face in New York today. As affordability pressures grow and arts funding becomes more precarious, organizations like ISCP play an increasingly essential role by doing something simple but profound:

Making space. Space for artists to create. Space for curators to experiment. Space for conversations that might not happen anywhere else.

Aruna reminded us that sustaining a vital creative culture requires collective effort, and institutions willing to invest in artists and curators even during difficult times. That is exactly what ISCP has done for more than 30 years.
