Wonderland

The work was initially inspired by Chinese-born artist Cai Guo-Qiang’s installation Head
On, which depicts 99 wolves leaping en masse towards an unseen wall, with those at the front falling from striking the wall while those bringing up the rear continuing surging
forward, undeterred.

The Fool, The Populist, The Believer, and The Guilty - Four archetypal characters evolve
in a universe influenced by the imagery of the American atomic age. Behind the smiles
and innocence of an Esther Williams dream world, and the irrational and circular
reasoning of McCarthyism, Wonderland reveals psychological and physical episodes of
a herd acting as a unit.
