The Treaty of Paris was recently signed which ended the revolution and granted the US government ownership over the lands of the midwest (west of Appalachians) that the British previously owned. There was danger in taking possession of the lands because the Native Americans still considered this land home. It had to be settled through fight or trade with each tribe. The American Government sold each acre of land for just $1!!!!!!!! ($19.34 adjusted for inflation by my calculations). They had over 160,000,000 acres to sell!!!!!!.
