Celebrating Juneteenth in Bed-Stuy with Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani. ☀️

Our RISE Project and Neighbors in Action teams hosted an AMAZING Juneteenth event in Herbert Von King Park in collaboration with Council Member Chi Ossé, welcoming neighbors to compete in a Double Dutch competition with The Double Love Experience, grab a free snack at the onsite community bodega, and screen print limited edition Juneteenth designs with The Press Room.

After partying with Angela Yee we were joined by Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani, who spoke of the importance of recognizing Juneteenth and the Black leaders who led the way to hope and progress across the United States and in New York City.

Mayor Mamdani had a chance to check out the Knicks celebration board and left a message in support of community safety at the RISE Project and Neighbors in Action Juneteenth payphone along with Deputy Mayor Renita Francois. 📞
