Master of the house 🪄

Music Director Yannick Nezet-Seguin has a full slate at the Met in the upcoming 2026–27 season, kicking off with the new production of Verdi’s Macbeth on Opening Night.

He also takes the podium to conduct the world premiere of Missy Mazzoli’s Lincoln in the Bardo and revivals of Puccini’s Tosca, Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier, and Wagner’s Parsifal, as well as concerts with the Met Orchestra at Carnegie Hall, performances of Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, and our Diamond Jubilee Gala celebrating 60 years at Lincoln Center.

In memory of Mignon Dunn, 1928–2026

The Metropolitan Opera mourns the death of mezzo-soprano Mignon Dunn, an invaluable artist and dear friend for many years. Following her 1958 debut as the Nurse in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov, she quickly graduated to major roles and established herself in a remarkably varied repertory. Over 35 extraordinary seasons with the Met, she sang an amazing total of 65 roles in 652 performances and became an admired and beloved figure to both the public and her colleagues.

After retirement, Dunn embarked on a second career as one of New York’s most distinguished voice teachers, sharing her experience and knowledge with many young artists.

We affectionately remember her glowing artistry and warm collegiality and offer our sincerest condolences to her family and many admirers.

Dancing in the streets 💃🏳️‍🌈

Company members from across the Met were honored to once again participate in the New York City Pride March. Singing atop our fabulous float, operatic superstars Anthony Roth Costanzo, Latonia Moore, and Miles Mykkanen wowed the crowds with their performances of favorite arias and pop hits.

On behalf of everyone in the Met family, we wish a very happy Pride to all celebrating.
