Last night at Culture Lab LIC 🎨
“Rooted” brings together a group of Long Island City artists whose work reflects the deep connection between creativity and community. The show highlights how local artists have helped shape LIC into the vibrant cultural hub it is today.
Presented by Culture Lab LIC and curated by Kenny Greenberg and Tess Howsam, the exhibition is a reminder of the power of art to build, connect, and sustain neighborhoods. From emerging voices to established makers, this community continues to grow—and stay rooted.

Today’s stop: Greenpoint, Brooklyn 📍
Right off the G train on India Street, we stopped into Wonder Mart — a vibrant shop supporting a community of local artists. From stickers and postcards to prints and ceramics, it’s packed with creative energy and one-of-a-kind finds.
You can also catch original papier-mâché works by Ethan Minsker in the mix — handmade, recycled, and full of character.

Last night in Chelsea, we stopped by Gotham Dispensary for a playful and unexpected show by Betty Rubble 🍔🧱
Using rocks, concrete, and bricks as her canvas, Betty transforms everyday materials into hyper-realistic food objects—blurring the line between what’s edible and what’s built to last. The result is a fun, surreal twist on still life that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
