Co-Existence

EIGHTY-FIVE YEARS AGO (1939): Two days after German N**i blitzkrieg troops stormed into Poland, Britain & France both declared war on the N**is ~ and so, WW-II began in ernst.
Nearly six years and over 50,000,000 deaths later, the Germans surrendered... but our world would never be the same. 😞

Sadly, my wishlist for the holidays won't be fulfilled; All I wanted was minor show of appreciation for the 12+ years, first helping to care for one parent, and almost immediately after his passing, moving-in full-time to then provide 24X7 care for the other.
While my siblings and their children either wouldn't make the 5-mile drive to visit (not even one visit for 2+ years, thus breaking her Mother's heart a bit more with each passing day), the other sibling deemed it a priority to coach 12-year olds on properly fielding a ground ball; meanwhile, their children had to be paid to make a 90-minute visit!
Ohh, the sibling who lived so close without bothering to visit, also actually REFUSED to give her 88-89 year-old Mother a HUG ~ just a simple hug (even while our Mother laid there sobbing 😭, begging for a token hug of affection! 😮).

Add to these small set of samples, that I sacrificed a prosperous career, and 10s of 1000s of $$ (plus my own independence) in order that our parents could have their one final wish fulfilled: They wanted the the dignity to pass-away in their own home. I sacrificed my entire life - gladly, though not without permanent harm to my health.

Now, the only gift I'd appreciate is a minor modicum of slack (maybe gratitude) from those very siblings & their children who abandoned Mother in the end, but still did not hesitate to take their 1/3 of the estate. Now, they've also abandoned me.
To my siblings and their family: I truly hope that in your dying years, you won't be neglected by your family, as you first neglected a Mother and grandmother who loved you dearly ~ even in her deep confusion. 💜
