Brought to you by NYU: Def Jam
Every iconic career starts somewhere. For Rick Rubin (TSOA ’85), it started at NYU. Armed with a four track recorder and a vision for something new, he founded Def Jam Records from his NYU dorm room, laying the foundation for one of the most influential record labels in music history.
Rubin’s work has shaped some of the most enduring music of the past few decades, leaving a lasting mark on artists, audiences, and the industry itself.
