This mid-19th century French Louis Philippe mirror arrived with extensive losses to the frame, including a missing crest, damaged carvings, and a broken mirror.

Over countless hours, a master gilder meticulously reconstructed the missing ornamentation, prepared the surface using traditional techniques, applied new gold leaf, and carefully patinated the finish to blend seamlessly with the surviving original gilding. The mirror was then fitted with new glass, allowing this remarkable piece to be enjoyed for generations to come.

Restored with respect for its history.
