Drivers Education

As I return from a much needed vacation that, as always, is NEVER near long enough, I realized a few things while driving 3,000 miles. One, the world isn’t nearly as horrible as the news makes it out to be; two, people are as friendly as you are to them; and three, drivers and driving habits are the same all across the United States. The third leads me to this; wherever you drive you must use caution. Attention shortfalls, impatience, and bad habits are always going to be something you new drivers will have to learn to adjust to. We do our best to persuade you to be focused on driving safely and its importance. Not everyone stays focused. The longer you are behind the wheel the more likely you’ll have lapses in attention. When that happens you need to stop at a safe location and regroup. Nap if you must, but don’t start driving again until you are clear headed and ready to react to those who don’t take the same advice. School is starting and many of you will be driving there, ALONE, for the first time. Focus on being safe, NOT on looking cool. Be safe kids, none of us want to read about you in the paper or see the prayer requests on Facebook due to a poor driving decision. You matter to all of us.

As of 9am today (May 21, 2020) the exam sites have NOT been opened or started scheduling. We have no idea when they will do so. They are separate from the BMV, which has confused some in this process. If we get any updates we will post it as soon as we hear.
