Historic district regulations only work when they're enforced.
The owner of 700 Webster St. withdrew an appeal before the City Council, leaving in place an order to restore unpermitted alterations to the home's historic façade. While a proposed $15,000 fine will not be imposed, Councilmember Aimee McCarron, City Council District A's motion sent a clear message: unpermitted work in New Orleans' historic districts has consequences.

One week from today! 🏡🍻
Next Thursday, join the PRC for Beams & Brews as we step inside a beautifully restored Arts & Crafts–style Double Bay Camelback Shotgun in the Irish Channel.
Tour the home while it's still under construction, hear from the project team, and see how original windows, doors, flooring, fireplaces, and even reclaimed cypress and historic structural elements are being preserved and incorporated into its next chapter.
