🫁 Today is World Bronchiectasis Day, a time to shine a light on a lesser-known chronic lung condition that affects millions of people worldwide. For us, it’s a time to raise awareness and support for people living with this chronic lung condition that often overlaps with COPD.

👉 What is Bronchiectasis?
It’s a long-term condition where the airways (called bronchi) become damaged and widened, making harder to clear mucus. This can lead to frequent lung infections, daily coughing, fatigue, and breathlessness.

If you or someone you love has bronchiectasis, know that you’re not alone! Learn more about Bronchiectasis: https://www.lung.org/lung-health-diseases/lung-disease-lookup/bronchiectasis

Behind every deep breath, every appointment, and every medication reminder, today we acknowledge the caregivers who offer strength, patience, and love.

If you are a caregiver for a person with chronic lung disease, your care makes a world of difference. ❤️ You may not wear a cape, but you are a hero! This month, we’d like to take a moment to say:

👉 We see you. We appreciate you. And we’re here for you, too! Know that support is just as important for you as it is for the people you care for. Don’t hesitate to ask for help, take breaks, and lean on the support of friends and family. You deserve care, too! 💙

🌟 FACT or MYTH: If you have chronic lung disease, you shouldn’t exercise because it will make you more out of breath. The answer is… MYTH! Exercise is essential for everyone, including those living with chronic lung disease. Exercise:

✅ Boosts circulation, making daily activities easier
✅ Helps clear mucus, reducing breathlessness
✅ Strengthens muscles to use oxygen more efficiently, meaning your body works less hard to breathe!

Start small! Try gentle stretches, seated exercises, or a short walk. What’s your favorite way to stay active? 🧘
