Need more summery tops, STAT! Fortunately I have some lovely handkerchief linen and the Sublime Shell - a match made in heaven. Or maybe someplace else, given the 100+ degree weather!

I need to repair these linen Roman shades where the sun has destroyed the hem facing.
My idea is to cover the entire hem facing with some sturdy polyester grosgrain ribbon. I figured the polyester will stand up to the sun, and the ribbon's structure would provide the best protection for the future.
Does this make sense to you all? If so, how would you go about attaching it? I was thinking of fusing it in place and then tacking by hand to the hem facing.
Any experience, ideas or feedback are appreciated!
Making videos for the yesterday I wondered how many takes I would need to turn out the back button loop....

If this is too fussy for you, try an elastic ponytail holder instead!
