Started out the day at a rally for George Logan, the next congressman to represent Connecticut’s 5th District, joined by many of his supporters, friends and people I have met along the way this Fall.

Spent some time again this afternoon knocking on doors making sure our friends and supporters are ready to get to the polls on Tuesday and have their voices heard.

New Britain is ready for new leaders in Washington, DC and Hartford, CT. I can’t wait to get to work for New Britain.

Home heating costs will be at record highs this winter. To add insult to injury, we now also should prepare ourselves for the possibility of rolling electricity blackouts here in Connecticut this winter. The reason? A shortage of natural gas, which is used to generate electricity at half of Connecticut’s power generation plants.

I have said this before and I will say it again. Bad public policy decisions have costly and dangerous consequences. For too long, the politicians in Hartford have promoted political agendas that fail to accept and appreciate reality. This has lead to decisions that increase our cost of living while decreasing our quality of life. High home energy costs combined with rolling electrical blackouts during winter in New England is a perfect example. It is dangerous. And it is unacceptable.

It does not have to be like this. We can do things like transform our energy infrastructure while at the same time ensuring it remains affordable and dependable. It takes leaders who will make public policy decisions based on reason, facts and common sense, not merely narratives and political agendas and fantasy.

It is time for change in state government. That means it is time for new leaders in Hartford. If you are tired of the same old out of touch politicians and their bad decisions, give me your vote on Tuesday. I will NOT be there just to advance a political party agenda. I am an independent thinker who will be there to do what’s right for the people of our state.
