Why do we apply this 36 times?
πŸ– Everything is a denominator of 3 in Chinese Medicine, because we are always trying to balance ourselves (1) between Yin (2) & Yang (3). The cyclical flow of Qi goes through every body part 3 times, so 36 times activates all 12 meridians (12 X 3 = 36)! Was that too much math? 🀣

πŸ– The hands & fingers carry 6 main meridians connecting to the entire body. And in the 5 element theory, each finger is connected to a TCM organ too.

πŸ– Look at your hand (Men right hand, women left hand):
- If the thumb is tight or tender, there is definitely a weak digestive system.
- If the middle finger is curved, it is a sign that the Heart is weakening (we see this a lot in the elderly).
- If the index is shorter than the ring finger, there is Liver disharmony.
- And if the ring is shorter than the index finger, there is Lung disharmony.
- The baby finger connects to the Kidneys, if it broke in the past, the TCM kidneys need more preserving.

πŸ– Often we forget that Qi Gong and Tai Chi are an intricate part of Chinese medicine.
πŸ– Qi Gong is so useful when we need to calm, root and center ourselves before treating patients.
πŸ– It’s also a great tool to teach patients simple exercises they can practice daily to counteract every day life stress.
