We’re excited to let you know that Nevada County Public Health's Summer Safety Giveaway Event is happening next week at the Grass Valley Library, 207 Mill Street, on July 16th from 11:30–12:30pm. (Following Summer Storytime and coinciding with Community Roots Free Lunch at the Library!)
The event is free, family-friendly, and open to everyone. Supplies are available while they last, so we encourage families to come early.
They’ll be giving out free summer safety items, including:
Life jackets
Sun hats
Sunscreen
Bike helmets
Thermometers
Other helpful supplies
Plus easy-to-use summer safety info for families
They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away... 🍎

This month, Book Club 217 is biting into Black River Orchard by Chuck Wendig—a deliciously creepy blend of folk horror, obsession, greed, and nature gone terribly wrong.
