Mindful Maintenance: When draining and cleaning spas, never leave uncovered acrylic, sensitive components, or spa chemicals in direct sunlight. Consider pop-up canopies or shade sails to block UV rays.

Reflected Heat & Warranties: Advise your clients of site scenarios that impact their spa cover. The manufacturer's spa cover warranty states: “To prevent heat damage caused by reflected sunlight, this warranty does not apply if the hot tub or spa is placed within 15 feet of a window or vinyl fence. Reflected heat from these surfaces can cause excessive temperatures that may damage the spa cover.” Knowing this detail may help you make better backyard design decisions.

Protect Children and Pets
Lock it Up: Always use a locking safety cover when the spa is unattended. Safety locks are vital to prevent unauthorized access by children and pets. They also help to secure the cover during windy weather.
