Thanks to Natick Report for sharing this story about our Rev War Projects, including the Rev War Knapsack Program for elementary students. Teachers and Community Group leaders can book the knapsack so that kids can touch repro artifacts that a Rev War soldier would have carried when traveling away from home. (Pictured here: powder horn, powder measure, and musket balls.)

On July 4, 1897, construction was underway beside the railroad depot in downtown Natick. This 129-year-old photograph provides a glimpse of Natick Center at the end of the nineteenth century.
The reverse is inscribed, “Depot – Natick – July 4th, 1897 Louie A. Bacon.” The photograph was donated by Mrs. Lucille Brooks of Kinsman Place, Natick, in the 1930s.
