Becoming a member of TriBeta during my freshman year opened doors for me that changed the course of my life. Through being a member and serving as VP and President, I have formed so many meaningful relationships with my peers and professors. The overwhelming support I have received from everyone in the School of STEM will never be forgotten. I have learned invaluable lessons and skills that I will carry with me into the next chapter of my life as I pursue my dream of becoming a doctor at LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine.

When I first chose to attend NSU, I never expected to find such a welcoming home within the School of STEM. Since my first year as a biology major, I was greeted with dedicated professors, research opportunities, scholarships and so much more! As one of the only students interested in attending pharmacy school post-graduation, I was concerned that I would have a hard time finding mentors and a support system to aid me in my endeavors. However, this was never the case. If anything, the amount of advice, encouragement, and professional development I have gained from our amazing department was more than I had ever believed I needed! NSU’s School of STEM has shaped me into the student I am today. Along with my friends and family, I cannot thank NSU’s faculty and staff enough for helping me attain my goals of graduating with a bachelor’s degree in biology and being accepted into the pharmacy school of my choice! After graduating from NSU, I will be attending Auburn’s Harrison College of Pharmacy to become a future pharmacist! TriBeta, thank you for being such a special part of my undergraduate experience!

Northwestern has given me such an amazing experience, especially through TriBeta. I have met the most amazing people. TriBeta has opened my eyes to all kinds of avenues I can continue with my biology degree. In the fall I will be attending LSU for a PhD in Chemistry. I wish the best to everyone! I will miss you all :)

I’ll be graduating with one bachelor’s degree in biology but have majored in biology and physical sciences with concentrations in biomedical and chemistry. After graduation, I plan on taking a gap year to prepare and take the MCAT, apply to medical schools, and start working in the science or medical field until I’m accepted into medical school. As I stand here today, on the brink of a new chapter in my life, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. My journey through the School of STEM and all of the organizations I’ve been a part of has been nothing short of transformative. The following is a list of the programs and organizations I was a part of at NSU: JOVE, Trio SSS, American Chemical Society, Beta Beta Beta, National Society of Leadership and Success, Alpha Epsilon Delta, PharmDemons, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, and Black Male Alliance. It has opened my eyes to the wonders of the natural world, instilled in me a deep appreciation for scientific inquiry, and equipped me with the knowledge and skills to make a meaningful impact in the world around me.

To my professors, thank you for your dedication and passion for teaching. Your guidance has been invaluable, and I am forever grateful for the wisdom you have imparted upon me. To my classmates, those continuing their undergraduate studies and my fellow graduates, thank you for the camaraderie and shared experiences. I encourage you to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead, to never stop asking questions, and to never lose sight of the impact you can make in the world. Together, we have laughed, learned, and grown, and I am proud to have been a part of such a supportive community. To my family and friends, thank you for your unwavering love and encouragement. Your belief in me has been a source of strength and inspiration throughout this journey. Thank you and congratulations to the Class of 2024!

TriBeta members from the Delta Theta Chapter represented NSULA School of STEM at the 98th Annual Meeting of the Louisiana Academy of Sciences on March 23, 2024, where they presented their independent student research projects in the oral and poster competitions. Student presenters included Addison Duet, Caleb Helms, Montel Mercier, Chris Acker, McKenzlea Wise, and Sarah Moore. TriBeta president, Sarah Moore, earned first place in the Zoology session of the oral competition. We want to congratulate all of these students for doing an amazing job! 🧬🔬🥼🤘

The annual Biology Ball will be held Friday, April 12th at 6:00 in the evening. Please join us for dinner, dance and music. Awards from the Scientific Research Symposium will be presented at the event.
