I was looking for a jar of something in the fridge and knew it was somewhere in the back, probably on the top shelf. As I looked up through the glass shelf to try to guess what the different containers might hold, it occurred to me that if I labeled the bottoms, I'd be able to identify them from underneath. I took it one step further when I'd found what I was looking for by writing the contents, with a Sharpie, in elongated lettering on the bottom of the jar--so when I look at it from an acute angle, it's easier to read.

In the latest industry study published in Remodeling magazine, the returns on a kitchen remodel in New England: 81% for a minor remodel, 59% for a mid-range major remodel and 57.9% for an upscale major remodel. So a minor remodel may help sway a bigger sale price overall if you're looking to sell, while major remodels should be done to suit yourself if you plan to stay for at least a few years--and the payback will probably be higher if you sell later, due to inflation.

We just installed this boxed-in arch over a sink today--first time doing a curved "ceiling" in this area. There'll be a recessed LED light in the center. More photos when the kitchen is finished...
