It’s with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the passing of John Tanzella, the esteemed President and CEO of IGLTA. His leadership and vision were pivotal in advocating for LGBTQ+ travel and promoting inclusivity within the tourism industry.

John was not just a figurehead; he was a true champion for equality, tirelessly working to create a more welcoming world for travelers of all backgrounds. Notably, he attended the opening of the Naples Pride Center in 2020, demonstrating his commitment to fostering connections and embracing diversity in every community.

This loss is felt deeply by many, and we extend our condolences to his family, friends, and the entire IGLTA community. John’s legacy will continue to inspire us all to strive for a more inclusive tourism landscape. Thank you, John, for everything you’ve done. You will be greatly missed.
