First Horizon Bank says I need to purchase flood insurance in spite of the fact I’m in an X500 zone…claiming the FEMA flood determination dated February 2024 is not accurate. I’ve been here for 27 years and the latest maps, along with the previous maps, show to the contrary. I’ll bet FEMA would like to hear that First Horizon knows more about flood zones than they do.

It all started with a game of Simon-Sez, that got out of hand, 32 years ago. Nine months later our daughter was born. Now, on her 31st birthday, she had a daughter of her own making me a first-time grandfather at the age of 78. Yikes!!! She’s a beautiful addition to our family.

Valentines Day…What a special day! 59 years ago I was inducted into the U.S. Army. I remember the day I received my draft notice. Uncle Sam wants me to defend the country…what an honor! They couldn’t have made a mistake. Really, me? Well, at least on my watch we weren’t invaded by Germany.
Through a series of Army errors(hard to believe) I was assigned to the 32nd Army Air Defense Command and stationed at the European headquarters for the U.S. Air Force in Wiesbaden. We played with the Nike- Hercules missiles pictured.
