It was another great weekend in Pittsburgh for North Americans and IFBB Master’s World Championships.

I got to shoot with one of my SYLL teammates, Teresa. And she is absolutely rocking this yellow bikini!! 😍

4️⃣0️⃣ and growing old, but it’s a privilege some people don’t have.

So I’m grateful that even though I see more wrinkles everyday, and my joints are not working like they once did in my youth, I get to wake up everyday next to the love of my life. He is my home, keeper of my heart, and he tells me everyday that I’m beautiful.

I’m grateful to be a mom. It has been my greatest blessing to raise three of the most beautiful and sweet daughters. I’m bias but I think they are pretty great, and I’ve loved spending the last year homeschooling my two youngest.

I’m grateful for all of my close friends and family. I’m the luckiest girl.

Cheers 🥂 to another year. Celebrating with my babe from the Portuguese islands: Sao Miguel and Madeira. Thank you Brantley, for an amazing birthday filled with adventure and beautiful places.

Being a mom is the best reason to take care of you and here’s why:

How you treat yourself sets an example for your kids and how they should treat themselves.
If you are continually self-sacrificing, overworked, have unhealthy habits, or have negative self-talk, you’re showing your kids that’s okay. We all want to raise kids to be humble and helpful, but also having boundaries and learning when to self-preserve are equally important.

Prioritizing self-care helps you become the best version of you. It will affect your mood and how you interact with your kids. It will optimize your body to be able to handle stress. And we all know that motherhood can be stressful!

It took me many years of being a mom before I finally realized how much I needed to take care of myself. I was pretty miserable and had a negative perception of myself and my body. Now I prioritize my workouts, sleep, diet, and mental health and feeling so much happier in my skin. I’m a better mom and the best part is my kids learning my healthy habits.

Had a bit of a catastrophe today. My mind instantly thought of how it could’ve been worse. And I’m grateful. Being able to reframe your perspective is a life skill anyone can learn. Gratitude is truly the key to living your best life.
