Perhaps the most epic of Elton John’s songbook,
“Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding” opens the 1973 magnum opus Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
The album sold over 20 million copies, reached Number One on the US, UK, Canadian, and Australian charts. There were four hits on the album but Funeral For a Friend became a live favorite.
Though It was too long to be a single, Funeral for a Friend received significant airplay.
Artists who have covered it include Dream Theater, Metallica, and Weird Al Yankovic.

We had an amazing time at Madcats last night! Thank you to everyone who joined us rocking into the early morning hours!!
If you’ve been to our shows lately, you may have noticed that we have had some new faces on stage. Michael has decided to depart the group for personal reasons and we wish him ALL of the best in his future endeavors! We love Michael dearly and we’re very grateful to have shared many stages and memories with him.
P.S. you may see Michael pop up with us from time to time, his Quest has not ended, it’s just taking a different path. All the best, Michael!!

Moving forward, we would like to introduce everyone to Gabi! Gabi is an exceptionally gifted keyboardist who has been learning our set at a blazing rate. So for our next few shows, you may see michael playing a bit but youll definitely see Gabi as we phase her into our QUEST.
Please make Gabi feel welcome as we are very grateful to have her talents and positive attitude join the party!
