Late night beam install.
A Dukane Precast bulb beam was recently set at a bridge project, helping move another infrastructure job forward.
Precast bridge components help speed up installation, reduce field labor, and deliver reliable quality where it matters most.
Precast bulb beams for Phase 1 are now in place on IDOT's IL 53 bridge project in Cook County.
The work covers two bridge superstructures over IL 53, at Rand Road and Algonquin Road, part of IDOT's larger corridor rehabilitation in the northwest suburbs.
32 beams at 79'8" each. 4 setting days. A 500 ton crane threading lifts into position over an active expressway while traffic kept moving around the site.
Setting precast bulb beams at this scale is a coordination exercise as much as an engineering one. Night work, tight staging, and a field crew that executed clean across every lift.
Phase 1 down. On to the next.
