Twisted Lizard Tiki Treehouse Bar

What began as a signature cocktail, a logo printed on Glow in the Dark cups to give away, and a freaky el-wire sign on the Playa in 2005, morphed into perhaps the coolest underground bar in NorCal by Lake Berryessa. In it’s move it went from a dusted attraction on the side of the road to an amazing amalgam of Tiki-ness perched in a ring of oak trees at the top of a hill. There it continued to generate it’s magic and madness for all that had the pleasure of passing through the red velvet rope.
Visitors of every stripe entered it’s deliciously demented decorated space and proceeded to rage into the night.
The atmosphere Lynka and I started so long ago seemed to gain gravitas with every freak that walked up the ramp.
With that in mind, what started in the desert at a party celebrating all things Fire, ended it’s run in the very same fashion. My only hope is as the flames approached, the lights twinkled, the bottles and glasses exploded with joy, as the plastic parts dripped to the ground like beautiful flaming tears.
