The fight for clean water starts with a united community 🌊🛟 Meet the team behind the Nantucket Clean Water Coalition, an alliance formed to give our harbor a fighting chance 🤝

Nantucket’s once-thriving scallop industry has seen a drastic decline due to the pollution of the island’s waters. Today’s annual scallop yield has plummeted below 10,000 bushels from a once impressive 120,000 😲

Unfortunately, the consequences of pollution 🛢️💨 extend beyond the scallop industry, as the island’s drinking water and the safety of its ponds and streams are also at risk. To address this urgent issue, the Maria Mitchell Association, Nantucket Land Council, and Nantucket Shellfish Association have joined forces. Their collective mission aims to enlighten 💡 island residents about the critical role they play in maintaining water cleanliness through personal accountability.
