Interested in exploring Nantucket’s incredible birdlife and sharpening your birding skills?

Join NCF Trustee Woody Newell for a morning of birding as we explore one of our conservation properties in search of resident and migratory birds. Whether you're brand new to birding or have years of experience, Woody’s enthusiasm and expertise make this program enjoyable for all skill levels.

Participants will learn tips for identifying birds by sight and sound, discover the habitats that support Nantucket’s diverse bird populations, and gain a deeper appreciation for the island’s avian residents and seasonal visitors. No previous birding experience is required, though binoculars are encouraged if you have them.

Love native plants and want to learn more about island ecology?

Join Native Plant Propagation Manager Stacey Cooper for a hands-on workshop in our nursery as we gear up for the growing season. Participants will help with seasonal nursery tasks while learning how native plants are grown and cared for to support habitat restoration and conservation projects across Nantucket.

This is a unique chance to spend time behind the scenes with our propagation team, learn practical plant care skills, and see how native species make their way from the greenhouse into local landscapes and ecosystems.
