Sunlight is a big issue and while I was hopeful this giant white oak wouldn’t have been a major issue… it was. So, today a crew came out and downed the beast. This will give the southeastern quarter of the plot around 3-4 hours more of sun per day. That’ll easily double what it was getting.

While I loved the shade reprieve it offered in July and August, it was just too much for the crops we grow, which nearly all need full sun.
