MSU IAT - Muskegon

This semester, Brianna Storck, a student in the Michigan State University Institute of Agricultural Technology (MSU IAT) program, has been completing an internship at Hortech in Nunica, Michigan. During the internship, Bri has gained valuable firsthand experience in commercial greenhouse production while collaborating with experienced growers and greenhouse staff. The internship has provided opportunities to gain experience about plant care, irrigation, crop monitoring, greenhouse operations, fulfilling orders, loading trucks, and
the importance of maintaining high quality standards throughout the growing process. Bri has also developed stronger communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills by contributing to daily production tasks and learning how to adapt to challenges in a fast-paced greenhouse environment. One of Bri's favorite memories from the internship was collaborating with a team to prepare and enter a potted plant into a workplace competition. That experience showcased
the creativity collaboration and dedication that go into producing exceptional plants and made the internship both rewarding and memorable.
