Peaceful travels to southern soul belter, songwriter & producer Clarence Carter who passed away yesterday. He began recording in the early sixties but made his largest mark over at Rick Hall’s Fame Studios /Fame records in Florence, Alabama (muscle shoals). His “backyard santa” & “tell daddy” are in regular rotation at funky sole. We give thanks for his musical contribution to this world.
👑 James Brown is the undeniable king of funky soul sounds and we look forward to celebrating his musical life!
This Saturday, May 9th we’re pulling out soul brother #1’s endless classics, deep cuts, his massive amount of productions for other artists as well as cover versions from around the world over at 🪩
