Who is Hello Gratitude?

Hello Gratitude was born in the heart of Grace A Spence. Hello Gratitude is the embodiment of Grace’s compassion and dedication to two often overlooked sectors of society: the Homeless and Law Enforcement Officers (L.E.Os).

Founded in 2020, this initiative stands on a dual foundation, each pillar reflecting Grace's deep-seated values and commitment.

1. Feeding the Homeless: Grace's daily prayer, "Lord, please don't let me be a stranger to those less fortunate than me," is not just words but a guiding principle in her life. Initially her living condition didn't allow her to cook for the homeless: however, she never let them pass by without ensuring they had something to eat. Fast forward to 2023, and her commitment has grown exponentially. Grace now personally cooks and feeds the homeless three Saturdays per month, a testament to her unwavering dedication.

2. Supporting Law Enforcement Officers: In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, while the world was in turmoil, Grace, an essential worker, recognized a disparity. While many frontline workers received gestures of appreciation, LEOs often went unnoticed. Moved by this realization, Grace initiated "Hello Gratitude's Adopt A Leo." Using her $2 per hour COVID-19 pay, she began gifting on-duty LEOs and firefighters with gift cards from popular eateries. These gestures, though modest, resonated deeply, filling a gap in community support for these brave individuals.

Grace's journey from Jamaica, took a 29 years pit stop in The Bahamas, and finally to the Golden State of California. This journey, has been marked by resilience, empathy, and a desire to make a difference. As a proud mother of three—a US Marine, a Teacher, and a US Soldier. Her life is a testament to nurturing and supporting those who serve and protect, as well as those who need protection.

Today, Hello Gratitude stands as a beacon of hope and appreciation. It is a registered non-profit organization with the California Secretary of State, and is currently awaiting its 501(C)(3) designation. For those inspired by Grace's mission, there are numerous ways to get involved and support the cause. Every gesture, grand or modest, goes a long way in making a difference.

Thank you for considering being a part of this heartfelt mission.

As the warmth of Thanksgiving fades into the crisp air of Christmas, let's not forget those whose hearts are chilled by the harsh winds of neglect. In this season of joy and giving, countless souls wander alone, invisible in the shadow of our festivities, with no place to call home, no table to gather around. Their empty stomachs echo the hollowness of forgotten dreams.

Yet, in this bleakness, we hold the power of transformation. A simple act of kindness - a plate filled with the love and warmth of a home-cooked meal - can be a beacon of hope in their dark world. Let's extend our hands, laden with the comfort of food, to those who have been long ignored. Let this Christmas be a time where no one feels abandoned, where every soul feels the touch of compassion.

Today, we take a moment to extend our deepest thanks and heartfelt appreciation to all the veterans who have served our nation. 🇺🇸

Veterans Day is more than just a holiday; it's a day to remember and celebrate the bravery, sacrifice, and dedication of the men and women who have donned the uniform of our armed forces. These courageous individuals have put everything on the line to protect our freedoms and way of life.

So, to each veteran out there, whether you served in times of peace or in times of conflict, know that your contributions have made a significant impact. Your bravery and commitment are the reasons why we can enjoy our freedoms today.

Let's all take a moment to show our gratitude and respect. Reach out to a veteran you know, share stories of their bravery, and let them know how much their service means to us.

🙏 Thank You, Veterans, for your service, sacrifice, and for protecting our nation. 🙏
