As the Subaru automatic has it's pinion shaft off-centre, it was not possible to manufacture a reverse cut ring and pinion and flip the differential and thus the crownwheel to the opposite side. Instead, we've developed the parts to spin the pinion in reverse, providing forward drive for rear-engined parts.
The kit includes a pair of Subasprockets and HYVO chain which replace the standard drive gears inside the rear of the transmission. Included is a billet back plate with integral mount pad for the VW Vanagon cotton reel transmission mount, a pair of Subaflanges and a pair of stub axle seals. Lastly, a block off plate and resistor for the AWD solenoid line ensures solid 2WD performance.

Before & After: Before the SubiStuff Sump Plus kit became available and you decided to do a Subaru Conversion of your own one of the issues you would face is with the sump clearance or lack of it.
The factory Subaru oil sump protrudes well past the exhaust headers and in a VW it's the lowest point across the length of the floor pan.
In this particular case the issue was address in a much simpler fashion of hacking off the excess sump and welding the big gaping hole shut that remand there after.
When compared to a stock sump the use of a SubiStuff Sump Plus allows you to get an extra 60mm (2.4″ ) of ground clearance without any other modifications. That means if you run a SubiStuff Sump Plus and a SubarugearsTransmission you will get over 100mm ( 4″ ) of clearance putting you back to pre-conversion standards so you never have to worry about hitting stuff with your sump again. The newest design which also allows us to use a socket through the access tubes makes fitment and installation easy to fit the sump to your engine.
While originally designed for use in naturally aspirated 2.2L and 2.5L single overhead cam engines; The addition of a -8 AN fitting to suit the oil drain back on our TD04 Turbo and a outstanding cherry red powder coated finish made this sump worthy of install to our Dual Sport Manxter 5MT conversion project.
